Meet the ContractorMark Costa is a design and residential construction professional with a passion for living well. He says: "Your home is likely your biggest investment and requires attention in order to secure its rewards. It's a place where you bond with the most important people in your life and surround yourself with the comforts you need to be whole." Mark grew up in Southern California and graduated from the University of Southern California (Marshall School of Business 1990). Mark spent his early career in jobs related to financial communications, consulting, and the investment management industries while living in Boston, MA. Working full-time jobs often requiring a suit and tie, he began taking courses at night in artisanship and fine furniture-making which blossomed into a thriving part-time business. Upon his return to California in 2001, he furthered his education in architechtural technology while working in construction, installing kitchens for major home centers. Eventually, this work evolved into managing projects ranging from kitchen and bath remodels to home additions and whole house remodels for a respected Orange County general contractor. Mark was a hands on manager with high volume production responsibility as well as on-site problem solving and quality control functions. In 2008, Mark built on these years of experience by qualifying as a California licensed general contractor. Since then, he's continued his innovative work in his clients homes, often as an honorary family member and always as a trusted advisor, dedicated to the most successful process and outcomes. On to a new and perhaps final phase in Bellingham Washington... With a scaled back operation and a focus on "Concierge" construction, Mark is eager to add value to the lives and homes of new clients in the Pacific Northwest. Mark's approach is simple and involves developing highly tailored and functional solutions, even if they can't be selected from a display in a big box store or showroom. Next he identifies methods and resources that get the job done within the specified budget and with a wholistic focus on sustainability and the home's energy and comfort requirements. And last, he manages the construction process to ensure the highest quality and longevity, using outside the box thinking and problem-solving skills which maximize the value of every remodel dollar spent.
